The old village Orasac in the south of Dalmatia is only 9 km away from Dubrovnik. The houses are located on the south- west hillside of the mountains, surrounded by glorious kitchen- and flower gardens tended and owned by the local inhabitants. Castel Savonari, a former monastery, was built in 1636 in a typical Dubrovnik of the period. Later it was renovated to modern standards. This was done without destroying the original character of the house. In front of the house you will find a terrace with a wonderful sea view over the Adria. The terrace is about 50 m long with stone pillars on either side..
From the house you can walk along a country road and through the pinewood to Orasacer beach. Here you will find a cafe also with a beautiful view over the coastline. In the village there are two supermarkets, two restaurants, a post office and an bureau de change. Cheese, ham, wine, fruit and vegetables are all made locally. You reach the ctiy of Dubrovnik by the local bus service.
